Articles Published in Areo

Areo was an online magazine that provided commentary on politics, society, science, culture and the arts. Their name was drawn from John Milton’s 1644 pamphlet, Areopagitica, a pioneering call for the freedom of the press. It was founded in 2016 by Malhar Mali; the editor-in-chief from 2018 to 2020 was Helen Pluckrose (author of Cynical Theories). Upon her departure, Iona Italia became editor-in-chief. Italia joined Quillette; Areo folded due to a lack of funding.

I published two articles in Areo:

Academic Freedom and Native American Reburials, with co-author James W. Springer, in March 2021.
